On this episode of the Coaching Studio

In this podcast episode, join Lyssa deHart and Carly Anderson at they dive deep into the world of coaching, discussing personal growth, their individual journeys, and the pivotal moments that shaped their careers. Carly shares an impactful story about a letter from a friend leading her to a personal development program during a tough phase in her advertising profession, ultimately guiding her towards a more fulfilling path.

Both emphasize the profound influence of coaching on behavior modification and consistent personal growth, highlighting the progression of coaching techniques over time. The duo addresses a common challenge coaches face regarding whether to allow clients to speak uninterrupted or to intervene. Carly underlines that any interruption should prioritize the client’s requirements, emphasizing the essence of genuine listening and establishing trust. The importance of non-verbal cues, the benefits of observation, and the concept of “partnering” in coaching are also explored. Both agree that feeling truly listened to is synonymous with feeling loved and acknowledged.

The conversation takes a critical turn when addressing the topic of Trauma-informed coaching, highlighting concerns about its application and the necessity for an abundance of training to handle such cases with care. Together, they explore the importance of understanding boundaries and recognizing when professional therapy is more appropriate than coaching.
